Name: Derek Glow
Age: 18
Species: Demigod
Gender: male
Child of: Dionysus
NPCs: None
Appearance: Derek has dark, occasionally short black hair. Most of the time it's quite long. He has very, very dark brown eyes.
Height: 5'11
Weight: 179 pounds
Derek can be seen mostly in jeans and a t-shirt, but he'll change it around a little. He almost never dresses up; if he wears anything such as a tux, he always feels as if he stands out too much.
Personality: Derek is kind of... out there. He can get along with almost anyone... except his father. He's outgoing and funny. It's easy for him to make people laugh. Derek's known to be a leader. He can make decisions well. Derek also likes good food. Doesn't everyone? But, unlike his father, he hates wine. Or really, any drink alcoholic. It bugs him to see people drinking it. He's not a "good kid" and what not, but he's not really bad either.
When the word "girls" occurs in a conversation, Derek is like any other guy. Although he does not, in fact, have a girlfriend. He doesn't want one. For one, it would be too hard if she were mortal. Two, if she were a demigod, they'd pretty much be related. And three, he doesn't need anything distracting him from his music, his sparring, or anything else, for that matter. He's quite charming, really, but he's completely oblivious if he's actually impressing a girl.
Derek gets thoroughly annoyed if something is going on that he knows could definitely get someone hurt or in trouble. He's pretty responsible. Which leads someone into thinking that he can't party. Now, I didn't say that. He is a son of Dionysus, after all.
History: Derek was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his mother, Hannah. It was always hard for them. His mother kept switching jobs, never able to find one and keep it for long. They got along fine, sure, but they never seemed to have enough money. Hannah, being a single mother, always tried to work hard. But between trying to take care of Derek and working, She never had enough time, never was able to get much done. This resulted in her getting fired... a lot.
His mother's working had never bothered Derek. He was used to being on his own, and always tried to help his mother in any way possible.
Hannah met Dionysus at one of her odd jobs. She was working as a secretary. The god called over the phone for Mr. Jacobs, Hannah answered, and that was it.
Schooling was almost not worth it. It never worked out. Hannah couldn't pay. Derek was in the average group, despite what was going on at home; he managed to get mostly B's, until he was taken to Camp Half-Blood.
Derek came to Camp Half-Blood a month before he turned twelve. He felt like any kid would. Scared, strange, kind of fuzzy all over. But one thing was different for him. He met his dad right away, was claimed right away, and was taken to the Dionysus cabin, you guessed it, right away. Those Dionysus kids are lucky.
Derek is now living happily at camp, cracking jokes and playing his guitar. Six years at camp, it never gets old.
Other History:
Codeword: Ambrosia
Other; Ugh, that's a terrible bio!
Edit: it's still terrible. Why, muse, WHY!?
